Chinmoyi is a visual artist based in Baroda, India. She works primarily with sculptural and video installations. Her work uses various forms of play, humor, appropriation and collaborations to present personal stories, memories, histories and experiences of the changing rhythms of urban life. She is interested in the shifts and ruptures caused by rapid urbanisation and development, which bring a sense of displacement, and how they exist within a larger social and cultural framework.

She graduated with a BFA (Painting) from Fine Arts, M.S.University in 2006 and an MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2009. In 2006-07 she was awarded the Madanjeet Singh Scholarship by South Asia Foundation, New Delhi for a one-year residency at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore. In 2013 she co-organised the Paradise Lodge International Artists Residency Lonavala/Mumbai with Emma E Hunt. She has participated in residencies in Mexico, Seoul, Manila and Mumbai. She was a finalist for the Celeste Art Prize 2011.

Chinmoyi has taken part in several exhibitions/screenings at Nazar Art Gallery, Baroda; Chatterjee and Lal, Mumbai; Helper Projects, Brooklyn; Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin; Gaite Lyrique, Centre Pompidou, Paris; Video Art Network, Lagos; Belgrade Art Fair, Serbia; Green Papaya Art Projects, Manila; Cornerhouse, Manchester among others. 

She has been teaching at the Undergraduate level at Department of Fine Arts, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat since 2012.

Chinmoyi works with Chatterjee and Lal, Mumbai.
